Kinetics and mechanism of the reaction of nitro and halonitro compounds with potassium iodide and other reducing agents

Abstrakt:	1.The interaction of polynitro compounds and their halo derivatives with KI (the reaction of iodometry) is a combination of two successive reactions: bimolecular nucleophilic substitution SN2 of the nitro group or halogen atom for an iodine atom (the step determining the reaction rate) and reduction of the iodopolnitro compound formed under the action of the iodide ion.2.Criteria of the possibility of isolation of an intermediate product of the reaction, ana-iodopoly-nitro compound, were proposed.
