1.pp-dp conjugation in the ethyleneamides of phosphorous acid is confirmed by the rapid inversion of the nitrogen atom in these compounds as shown by PMR data.2.The absence of peaks due to amine and oxygenous fragments in the mass spectra of amides and esters of phosphorous acid is explained by pp-dp conjugation. It follows from the mass spectra of the mixed amides and amidoesters that the stabilization of the fragments due to pp-dp conjugation decreases upon going from the dimethylamides to the ethylamides. |
