1.The thermal conversions of 3-monoalkyl-substitutedß-oxides were investigated, using a microreactor mounted in a chromatograph.2.In the thermal decomposition of this type ofß-oxides, there are two primary processes. The main direction of the reaction is decomposition of the molecules to formaldehyde and the corresponding olefins (~90%). In addition to decomposition, isomerization of theß-oxides and aldehydes (5–7%) was also observed; the formation of the latter may be explained by the influence of the walls of the microreactor.3.Secondary processes may include decarbonylation of the primary products. |
