Abstrakt: 1.In gas-liquid chromatography on a polar phase-1,2,3-tris-(2-cyanoethoxy)propane, in addition to the partitioning effect, there is adsorption at the gas-liquid and liquid-solid interfaces. Adsorption at the surface of the liquid phase occurs both for polar and for nonpolar substances, while on a solid carrier it occurs only for polar compounds.2.A new equation was proposed for gas-liquid chromatography, showing the dependence of the retainable volume upon the partitioning effect and two types of adsorption interaction. The indicated equation permits determination not only of the distribution coefficients and adsorption coefficient at the gas-liquid interface, but also adsorption at the liquid-solid interface.3.By decreasing the amount of the liquid phase, one can use supplementary adsorption interactions and achieve a sharp increase in the efficiency of the partitioning column with a substantial reduction of the time of analysis.4.A new variation of gas-liquid chromatography was proposed-adsorption-partition chromatography, using a selective solid carrier, permitting the achievement of fine effects of separation for polar substances.
