Summary 1.A variation of the method of production of isoprene from formaldehyde and isobutylene through the intermediate stage of 3-methylbutanediol-1,3 is proposed.2.Isoprene of a high degree of purity (99.5–99.8%) is produced in the process; few side products are formed. |
