Conclusions 1.The method of latent limiting currents was used to establish the stoichiometry of the reactions of the electrochemical reduction ofa-1, 2, 3,4, 5, 6-hexabromocyclohexane and para-diiodobenzene.2.In the six-electron reduction ofa-hexabromocyclohexane, hydrogen ions are not consumed, and six bromine ions arise, i.e., the reduction proceeds with the formation of benzene. In the four-electron reduction of para-diiodobenzene in a 0.5 M ethanol solution of (CH3)4NCl, two hydrogen ions are consumed, i.e., stripping of both iodine atoms occurs. Against a background of 0.1 M LiClO4 stripping of the iodine atoms occurs at different potentials.3.The difference in the behavior of para-diiodobenzene in different solutions is explained by the influence of the structure of the electric double layer. |
