1.A study was made of the dienophile activities of 2-(vinyloxy)ethylamine and its N,N-diethyl and N,N-dimethyl derivatives in diene condensation with cyclopentadiene; mono- and diadducts were prepared and characterized.2.The presence of an amino group in an alkyl vinyl ether somewhat lowers the latter's activity in reaction with cyclopentadiene; the effect is the greater the higher the basic character of the amino group.3.It was shown that the yield of the monoadduct is raised by increase in the excess of vinyl ether and in the reaction time. |
