Summary 1.The new compound 1-methyl-3-methylcyclobutane has been synthesized and separated into its cis- and2.The new compound di-(3-methylcyclobutyl)-methane has been synthesized as a mixture of stereoisomers.3.A number of new disubstituted cyclobutane derivatives have been prepared and described.4.The disubstituted cyclobutanes are shown to have an elevated increment of molecular refraction, due to the effect of the trans-isomers. |
