Abstrakt: Models of unbonded composites have been made by drilling holes in aluminium alloy strip and plugging the holes with steel rods. These specimens, together with similar specimens left unplugged, have been tested in tension. Young's modulus, stress at the elastic limit and ultimate tensile stress have been measured. The results, particularly for the Young's modulus of the plugged strips, show a complex behaviour. The application of the results to real materials is discussed.
