| Abstrakt: | Metabolic and vascular adaptation of teleost lateral propulsive musculature to an active mode of life was investigated in four pelagic teleosts (mackerel, yellowtail scad, pilchard and Australian salmon). Histochemical profiles and capillarisation data of the red and white muscle were compared to those of less active demersal species. |
