Josephson pulsars

Abstrakt: An emission mechanism of pulsars based on the a.c. Josephson effect, proposed by Kovalev, is critically examined. It is concluded that such a mechanism is very improbable, for reasons associated with the physics of the neutron star and of the Josephson effect.
