Abstrakt: 1.Warm embrittlement of stainless maraging steels during slow cooling may be due to precipitation of titanium carbide in grain boundaries and decomposition of d ferrite to s-like phase.2.With decreasing amounts of titanium in the steels the steel becomes less susceptible to warm brittleness only in the case where alloying prevents formation of stable d ferrite.
