Abstrakt: 1.It was found that it is expedient to raise the nitrogen content of stainless and heat-resisting austenitic-ferritic and austenitic steels. Raising the nitrogen content of the steels results in an increase of the strength at room and elevated temperatures without any substantial effect on the plastic characteristics. With a high nitrogen content the austenitic-ferritic steel Kh21·G7AN5 becomes austenitic.2.Raising the nitrogen content of austenitic-martensitic steel lowers MS, as the result of which the elevated concentration of austenite (not transformed in the course of heat treatment) lowers the strength characteristics.
