Abstrakt: 1.The diffusion coatings formed on iron aluminized in molten aluminum consist of two zones — a thin zone of fine-crystalline FeAl3 adjoining the aluminum and a thick zone of acicular crystals (Fe2Al5).2.The existence of Fe2Al5 in the diffusion coating is due to its high thermodynamic stability and also the particularly defective lattice of this phase, which promotes the rapid influx of aluminum atoms to the growth front of the crystals.
