PHA stimulation and cytochemical behaviour of lymphocytes from patients with Hodgkin's Disease and PHA stimulation of lymphocytes from patients with bronchogenic carcinoma were studied before and during the course of 60Co radiotherapy. PHA stimulation of lymphocytes was significantly diminished in patients with bronchogenic carcinoma during radiotherapy and in patients with Hodgkin's Disease receiving supradiaphragmal irradiation. Lymphocyte cultures, not stimulated, showed no alteration of 3H-thymidine uptake during the course of radiotherapy. |
