Abstrakt: For the physical substantiation of a previously suggested method of temperature-time prediction of the characteristics of long-time strength of metallic materials for service times up to 500,000 h on the basis of test results with laboratory specimens obtained at no more than 10,000 h it is suggested to use the dependences of-the relatrtive creep strain and strain prior to accelerated and avalanche creep on stress and temperature to establish the equivalent conditions of damage and failure within the investigated temperature ranges. The article shows that if for a broad class of metallic materials the characteristics of residual plastic deformation in long-time failure differ from each other, then the methods of extrapolation of the results of tests of limited duration are also bound to differ from each other.
