On a model that takes local ruptures occurring as a result of micrononuniform deformation of polycrystals into account, the article examines the behavior of a structurally inhomogeneous body in the process of being loaded. An analysis of the load curve is given, and it is established that the transition to the parabolic dependence of strain on stress at the last stage of loading is not only due to a change of the dislocation mechanisms of deformation but is also determined by the onset of the process of local ruptures. The assumption is voiced that when the process of local ruptures begins, it is necessary to consider a fundamentally new mechanism of plastic deformation based on the interaction between dislocation pile-ups and microcracks. |
