Abstrakt: Conclusions 1.In cooling the steel specimens with a gauge diameter of no more than Do=0.0053 m from 900–293°K' by immersing in water, the temperature gradient along the radius may be ignored.2.The fatigue limit of 12Kh18N10T steel decreases by 25% after 1000 thermal cycles in these conditions.3.The reduction of the fatigue limit of the steel after several hundreds of thermal cycles is caused by the cyclic thermal stresses of the second kind.
