Abstrakt: 1.In plastic deformation at low temperatures of chrome-nickel steel in the as-received condition and also of that heat treated and previously deformed at room temperature, nonuniformlty of plastic deformation is observed. The latter is revealed in a break in load on the stress-strain curve and in the formation of a local plastic zone in the sample.2.The loss of strength of the steel is caused by the occurrence of the martensite transformation. The source of spontaneous origin of martensite may be the cellular dislocation structure in the austenite matrix.
