Conclusions 1.Small plastic strain at temperatures above the upper transition point improves the plasticity of low-carbon steel which has been previously strain-aged.2.The process of plasticity restoration after dynamic aging is a stable process.3.A limited prestraining of welded structures at room temperature should increase their resistance to brittle fracture as it does not only remove residual tensile stresses but it also improves the metal plasticity in stress concentration zones produced by thermoplastic (welding) strain. |
