Abstrakt: To prevent rupture of interparticle contacts during the burning out of lubricants from compacts pressed from aluminum powder-base mixtures, it is necessary to ensure that the porosity of the compacts is not less than 11–13%. The optimum temperature ranges for burning out lubricants are 240–280 for stearic acid and 300–400°C for zinc stearate. The burning out of lubricants can be performed without the use of a protective atmosphere.
