Abstrakt: 1.The LTAS of a defective powder takes place under conditions of primary AR and formation of an ultrafine-grained structure, and is in fact a manifestation of structural superplasticity of the compact being sintered.2.Subjecting a powder to recrystallization annealing or suppressing AR in a powder with an antirecrystallization addition sharply alters the mechanism of LTAS and the temperature dependence of shrinkage.3.A mechanism of LTAS of a defective powder is proposed based on diffusional penetration of an activator into particles along their structural defects and on initiation of AR.
