Abstrakt: 1.It is shown that parts can be produced from finely divided molybdenum powders.2.Of the two peptizers, HCl and NaOH, added to molybdenum slurries, the latter proved to be the more effective (at pH values of 4–5).3.The highest density (5.72 g/cm3) was attained when casting blanks from a slurry with a solid/ liquid phase ratio of 88:12 at pH of 4–5.4.Green molybdenum castings produced from aqueous slurries exhibited high strength.5.The density of the slip castings attained the same limiting values which are secured by the method of compacting in steel dies.6.By using molybdenum powder of high specific surface, it was possible to produce parts of high density (~0.1% porosity) as a result of sintering for 1 h at a temperature of 1700°C, without resorting to activating additions.
