Abstrakt: Summary The formation of 1:3 (metal:ligand) complex with phenanthrenequinone monothiosemicarbazone (PTS) has been used for the determination of 0.43-2.1 ppm of nickel(II) over the pH range 7.0–9.2 in 50% methanol medium. The complex shows maximum absorption at 520 nm with a sensitivity of 0.0023µg Ni/cm2. The selectivity of the method has been studied and the method has been employed for the determination of nickel in brightray G wire.
