Inhibition of synthetic oil by mixtures of phenols with sulfur compounds and Polygard

Abstrakt: 1.Antioxidant effectiveness has been investigated for mixtures of lonol, MB-1, and 22–46 with Captax, Altax, and Polygard, as well as mixtures of p-hydroxydiphenylamine with Captax.2.Mixtures of 22–46 with SAO-6 show an antagonistic effect; all other mixtures shown synergism.3.The mixtures of Ionol and MB-1 with SAO-6 give the greatest synergism with excess phenol. The mixtures of phenols with Polygard shown the greatest reinforcement with excess Polygard. In mixtures with Captax and Altax, the relative reinforcement effect increases as the amounts of these components in the mixture is increased.
