Abstrakt: Conclusions 1.Trimming of the blade in the zone of interaction of the trailing and peripheral edges increases the operating reliability of Kaplan turbines due to a shift of the location of the relative maximum dynamic stresses into the thickened part of the blade.2.With a rounded form of trimming the blades, we did not note a worsening of the operating parameters of the turbines of the Ust-Khantaika hydrostation (PL-5A), Kama hydrostation (PL-510), and Kanev hydrostation (PL-984).3.The results of investigating the indicated runners should not automatically be extended to other types of hydraulic turbines. For each type of runner there is a corresponding analysis of the problem of blade modification.
