| Abstrakt: | Cells of a ß-lactamase producingE. coli strain were immobilized with acrylamide and lyophilized. The gel particles containing the entrapped cells were used like an immobilized enzyme to study the inactivation of ß-lactam antibiotics. The substrate profile of the ß-lactamase was determined and the action of ß-lactamase inhibitors studied. |
