Wetting transitions of liquid helium on oxidized rubidium metal surfaces

Abstrakt: Prewetting transitions of liquid helium on rubidium surfaces exposed to increasing quantities of oxygen have been observed. They reveal a decrease of the wettability of the surface. A state has been reached where the rubidium surface appears non wetted for temperatures below 1.45 K. The dewetting transition has been observed.
