Abstrakt: Conclusions: From the morphological study on the transformation of staphylococci into the “L” phase, we are inclined to conclude that intermediary stages between the coccus and the “L” organisms do not exist. Moreover, our results suggest that possibly two different cells take part in the transformation. In spite of two hundred and more passages in the “L” phase, we have not yet succeeded in obtaining stable “L” forms of staphylococci.
