Synthesis and characterization of a binuclear iron-μ-peroxo complex of a tetraaza macrocyclic ligand

Abstrakt:	The dimerization of complex (1), [Fe(TIM)(H2O)2]2+ (TIM = 2,3,9,10-tetramethyl-1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetra-deca-1,3,8,10-tetraene) in aerated aqueous solution results in formation of the binuclear complex (2), [(H2O)(TIM)-Fe—O—O—Fe(TIM))(H2O)]4+. Complex (2) has been characterized by elemental analysis, spectroscopy and electrochemical data.
