Summary Six F2 progenies of an interspecific cross betweenPapaver setigerum andP. somniferum have been investigated to study the correlation between flower colour and male sterility. It has been found that with regard to the mean fertility value, the colours do show a significant difference one over the other. An attempt is made to interpret this correlation on the basis of a hypothesis that this may perhaps be due to the interaction between karyological and genotypical causes. |
