Abstrakt: The concept is presented that a full-length detachment of the anterolateral vaginal wall from the coccygeus to the symphysis pubis forms three triangular shapes. These were found in 83 patients who had had surgery for significant cystoceles. The possible relationship of these triangles to the pathogenesis of cystocele, stress incontinence and vaginal prolapse is discussed.
