Abstrakt: The design, aims and rationale of this study of dropouts from Gamblers Anonymous have been outlined in part 1 (Brown, 1986). In this second part, the freestyle descriptions of their experiences with GA by a sample of dropouts who had attended more than one meeting are analyzed. These responses from the dropouts are compared with similarly obtained responses from a group of continuing attenders who had not gambled for at least one year. Dropouts were found to make significantly more statements than continuers, comparing themselves favorably with other GA attenders from the beginning of their association with GA. At the end of their association with GA, dropouts tended to make more negative statements than continuers about the people in GA, although not about the organization.
