Abstract: In the year 1967, a study was made of the production of the following four selected plant communities arranged in an ecological series according to moisture:Serratuleto-Festucetum commutatae, Gratiola officinalis Carex praecox-suzae subass.Galium boreale, Gratiola officinalis-Carex praecoxsuzae subass.Rorippa silvestris; andGlycerietum maximae, the most humid member, partly left unmowed. Attention was paid to the rate of aerial and root production, root: shoot ratio, weight ratio of various plant groups to the dominant, vertical structure of the vegetation, and ash content. Primary dry matter production was used for determining the values of growth characteristics: relative growth rateR and productivityC. |
