Early discharge of normal full-term infants who may he breastfeeding has become the standard of care in most institutions in the United States, often without adequate follow-up arrangements in place. The cases presented highlight the need for perinatal health care providers and insurers to reconsider practices that have been implemented without careful consideration for follow-up. |
