Abstrakt: The management of a pregnancy complicated by carcinoid tumor depends on the primary site and if serotonin is being produced by the tumor. Appendiceal carcinoid tumors are frequently an incidental finding and typically do not require further evaluation. Based on a review of the literature, pregnancies complicated by carcinoid tumors appear to have a good prognosis. However, there may be an increased incidence of adverse perinatal outcome associated with pregnancies complicated by carcinoid syndrome. These patients require proper counseling, fetal surveillance, and follow-up. A case report and review of the literature is presented.
