This special issue of Industry and Higher Education comprises a selection of papers based on presentations at the international conference on Entrepreneurship - an Objective for Education in Europe held in Stuttgart, Germany, on 810 June 1999. In the context of the need to establish an entrepreneurial culture within European education systems and research institutes, the conference was organized to provide participants with an opportunity to debate the various ideas and approaches either in practice or under consideration in Europe and in other countries. In this introductory article, the authors report on the main views that emerged in the course of the conference and summarize the recommendations formulated to help develop a European policy on entrepreneurship. |
