Abstrakt: The MRCOG is an international examination based in the UK intended to test core knowledge and experience in obstetrics and gynaecology. Part 1 covers relevant basic sciences and can be taken any time after graduation; Part 2 should ideally be taken in the second or third year of Specialist Registrar training or at an equivalent level of experience. Good candidates generally pass examinations because they deserve to, not because they enjoy knowledge of special examination techniques which their unsuccessful counterparts lack. There is, however, no doubt that knowing what is expected of you and clear ideas about how best to meet those expectations can make a real difference. Advice is offered on preparation for the Part 2 MRCOG with suggestions on how to perform well in the various components of the examination, Multiple Choice Questions, Short Essays and Oral Assessment.
