Effect of elastic strains on the structure of 180° domains in BaTiO3 crystals

Abstrakt: Periodic domain structures, theoretically predicted in Reference 3, have been found experimentally in BaTiO3 crystals. An analysis of the equation of state of the ferroelectric was carried out in harmonic approximation and a possibility was shown of excitation by elasti cstresses (standing waves) of periodic structures in the To ÷ To + 0.2 (Tc - To) interval. The period of the structure lies in the 3-8 μm range, which corresponds to the vibration frequencies on the order of 109 Hz.
