Abstrakt: AbstractThe luminescence emission and excitation spectra of CsBr were measured in the XUV and X-ray region. The quantum yield of the 470 nm luminescence band attributed to inadvertent impurity demonstrated positive jumps at the core absorption edges suggesting that the impurity was adsorbed at the crystal surface. From the values of these jumps at different core edges the diffusion length of secondary electronic excitations was evaluated as ∼ 1000 Å. A PSL study of F-centre creation in KBr-T1 at the bromine K-edge demonstrated a dip of ∼ 25% in the F-centre yield at 10 K in the region of the core exciton. It was attributed to the existence of specific relaxation channels in these region which can result in the formation of more complicated defects with a different stimulation (absorption) spectrum.
