Abstrakt: Bromine 79, bromine 81 and sodium 23 resonances are reported for solutions of bromides in aqueous and non-aqueous solvents. The results indicate that quadrupole coupling at the nuclei of Br- and Na+ in solutions of sodium and of calcium bromide arises from ion-solvent interactions, and not ion-ion interactions. In the case of caesium bromide solutions, ion-ion interactions are important.
