Measurements of the proton electron Overhauser effect in solutions containing the tri-tertiary butyl phenoxyl radical are reported. The results are satisfactorily interpreted in terms of dipolar interactions between the protons and free radical electrons. The time dependence of this interaction arises from the translational diffusion of the free radicals relative to molecules containing the protons. |
