Abstrakt:	A new strategy for the synthesis and purification of synthetic intermediates is described using anthracene-tagged ester substrates in conjunction with an N-benzylmaleimide resin. Anthracene chemical tags permit use of standard solution-phase reaction conditions and reaction-monitoring techniques.
