Abstrakt:	Shake-flask cultures of Paecilomyces variotii produce a phytotoxin with high activity against broadleaf weeds and selectivity to corn. The phytotoxin was purified and identified as 14-hydroxycornexistin (2), a new member of the nonadride family.
