The temperature dependences of resistivity of a number of transition metal Ti-based alloys have been studied in detail. It is shown that the conductivity of these alloys consists of three additive contributions, viz. (1) a T-independent metallic part, (2) a thermally activated part which obeys the Mott T1/4 law, and (3) a thermally activated part with T-independent activation energy. This coexistence of metallic and thermally activated conductivities is quite unusual and requires a theoretical explanation. |
