Abstrakt: Bioassay-guided fractionation of an EtOH extract obtained from the roots of the Madagascan plant Albizia gummiferaled to the isolation of three new cytotoxic oleanane-type triterpenoid saponins, gummiferaosides A−C (1−3). The structures of these new compounds were elucidated using 1D and 2D NMR experiments and mass spectrometry. Compounds 1−3showed cytotoxicity against the A2780 human ovarian cancer cell line with IC50values of 0.8, 1.5, and 0.6 g/mL, respectively.
