Abstrakt:	The article examines the legality of the U.S. Department of Education (DOE) new policy, which requires combined reporting for all same-sex spouses when filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) applications for the coming 2014-2015 academic year. It analyzes the judicial decision of the U.S. Supreme Court in the case of United States v. Windsor, in which the Court prohibited the section three of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) for recognizing same-sex marriage rights.
