Abstrakt: Childbirth educators have the opportunity to empower women by helping them to embrace the role of parenthood. Motherhood starts before conception. The ultimate of being proactive in health is to cultivate it from the very beginning. Stress can make or break the health of an unborn baby. For this reason, self-care is crucial for pregnant women, not only on the physical level. This article highlights research demonstrating the interconnectedness of maternal psychological states on fetal development and the lifelong influence these connections have on human growth. An essential ingredient that gives babies their best start in life may include teaching mothers to practice mindfulness during pregnancy. One such practice allows mothers to connect to their unborn children through an intentional heart connection. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
