Abstrakt:	The article discusses the cooperation of the Centre Interregional de Conservation du Livre (CICL) and the Agence de Cooperation de Toulouse Midi Pyrenees to conserve and restore the books located in the Library of the Monastery of the Merced in Quito, Ecuador. Topics discussed include the influence of dampness in the library on the books, the leather bindings used for the books, and the impact of fungi on the books.
