The article reports on the studies conducted on the Fukushima disaster and other near-miss accidents, current nuclear standards, and proposals for improvement of nuclear standards. Topics discussed include common-cause failures which do not address natural causes, incidence of severe accidents and near-misses worldwide, and the difference between the accidents TMI-2 and Fukushima. Also discussed are the problems related to hydrogen, and containment and mitigation capability enhancements. |
